Media Filtration

Media filtration is the process of removing solids from water by passing it through a porous filter media such as sand, anthracite, Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) or a combination.

Media filtration can remove the following:
  • Suspended solids and floc particles.
  • Turbidity and color - to produce clear product.
  • Organic matter such as algae - to remove tastes and odors.
  • Microorganisms - to protect the health of the consumers.
